The Indian Military Nursing Services also known as MNS is a part of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) of the Indian Army. Employability:
The candidates will be selected for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Military Nursing Service(MNS) will be served for at least Five Years and according to the interest and service of the candidate, the service can be extendable to a total tenure of fourteen years(5+5+4).
Candidates will serve anywhere in Indian as the Military Nursing Service(Regular) Officers of the Indian Armed Forces (wings: Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force). In the first five years of commission service, no choice will be given for posting.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & REGISTRATION:

A candidate should have passed either B.Sc.(Nursing), Post Basic(PB) B.Sc.(Nursing) or M.Sc.(Nursing) degree from the Indian Nursing Council(INC) recognized University and should be a registered Nurse and Midwife from any State Nursing Council.

PHYSICAL FITNESS AND QUALIFICATION:

According to the Military Standards by Military Boards and Authorities, Medical fitness will be examined. Two major examinations will be done i.e., X-Ray examination of Chest and USG(UltraSonoGraphy of the abdomen).

The shortlisted candidates will undergo physical fitness which is examined by the Medical Board which is arranged by the office of DGAFMS(Directorate General Armed Force Medical Services).

Important Note: At the time of Medical Examination and joining for the commission, pregnant candidates will be marked as rejected with the note as temporarily medically unfit. However, there is no issue for pregnant candidates at the time of written exam.
